A Father and Son’s Journey That Changed Addiction Treatment
Passages Malibu was founded in 2001 by father and son, Chris and Pax Prentiss. Before Passages, Pax endured a ten-year addiction to heroin, cocaine, and alcohol. He tried multiple treatment centers that offered 12-Step programs, but each time he returned home, he relapsed—because the underlying conditions driving his addiction were never truly addressed.
Desperate to save his son’s life, Chris created a holistic program that focused on healing those underlying conditions. It was unlike anything Pax had experienced, and it ultimately saved his life. Grateful for his recovery, Pax wanted to make this same approach available to others. That shared vision led Chris and Pax to open Passages Malibu.
The program they designed does not use the 12 Steps. Instead, it offers an abundance of one-on-one, holistic therapies that focus on treating the causes of addiction.
